On the GPU front, the Intel Arc mobile GPUs are starting to provide some healthy competition to Nvidia and AMD, at least for entry-level gaming laptops. And the price on last-gen offerings ought to come down in the short term, too, which makes this inflection point between two hardware generations a good time to start looking for a new gaming laptop.ĪMD's Ryzen 6000-series processors and Intel's 12th-Gen Alder Lake chips seem evenly matched on performance. But we know those will mostly be wrapped into the same chassis we've grown to love over the past year. AMD is also going to have skin in the game with its own mobile CPUs soon. We are at a cross-roads, however, with new machines hitting the shelves in the next month or so, offering 13th Gen Intel mobile processors and RTX 40-series graphics cards.
